Floramor
Kruiden is a private enterprise created in Amsterdam in 1996 by
Lila Cavaleiro, a portuguese resident in Holland.
The departing point of this undertaking has been the introducing
in Holland of medicinal herbs from unpolluted wildernesses and biologic
farms of sunny Portugal, intending thus also to call attention to
the threat that represents to the native flora the over-planting
of eucalyptus.
This eventually led to a small-scale distribution of herbs from
Portugal and creation of Floramor´s own herbal products: home
made original compositions based on traditional recipes of folk
herb-medicine.
Further research into the healing power of plants and surch for
biologic herb producers in Portugal led the iniciater Lila Cavaleiro
to the aquaintance of a family entreprise dedicated to the production
of cold pressed oils and essential oils from biologic plants grown
in their own extense farms and gardens. That´s how oils and
aromatherapy items appear in Floramor list of products

Since
the discovery of Brasil that some native brasilian herbs
are part of the Portuguese herbal culture; this fact, visiting Brasil
and traveling in the Amazonia rain forest brought to Floramor´s
assortiment brasilian species, some of which are classic in Portugal
and some that are classic only among the Indians.
While in the Amazónia Lila met the creaters of the Amazonia Flower
Remedies Florais da Amazónia. Being interested in the
subject (fascinated by the findings of Dr. Bach) she participated in
their workshops and decided to bring Florais da Amazónia to Floramor.
Lila´s
biography.
My link with herbs and nature started at birth in a isolated community
in the mountains of north Portugal, with no electricity, no motor road. There
were no doctors either, so, as anywhere else on the globe in the same
situation, people turn to the nature for remedies.
My maternal grand mother with whom I lived, knew many herbal secrets
and could help many people; she used to take me with her on hikes into
distant hills and valleys in search of specific herbs and I became her
assistant during healing sessions.
I left my native place and my grand mother in order to pursue a school
education in the city and later abroad; but the years spent with her
and her teachings are ever more vivid and precious.
Meanwhile, in the big world, the asthma that I inherited was manifesting
increasingly and I tried modern medicines and specialists of reputation
all over Europe with very poor results and destructive side effects.
Many years later on a spiritual quest I found myself in the Himalayas
the pupil of a yogi who had renounced the world in which he had been
a doctor. He seemed to know all the plants that grew in the jungles
where he had made his home. One day he collected some leaves to make
asthma cigarettes for a chella; I immediately recognized the plant that
often, as a kid, I had to inhale the smoke to get relief from asthma.
This was turning the direction of my search for healing back to the
roots.

Passionate
traveler, always interested in folk medicine and the native species
of the places I visited while traveling in India, Mongolia, South
America and Europe. I find out that many species are to be found
all over and are used for the same ends, as is the case of datura
stramonium leaves for asthma.
Later
in life and back in Europe, needing a new occupation I folowed
an old track: visited village healers/herbalists in remote areas
of Portugal, where this knowledge is still alive. I started to
colect herbs in the wild during holidays.
I have access to first kwality herbs legally plucked in the wild
nature and from bio-producers in sunny Portugal; that´s
how the idea came of starting a small distribution in Holland,
mainly Amsterdam, creating Floramor Kruiden.
In my quest for good suppliers I made the aquaintance of a family
in Portugal that produce bio-certified herbs and several generations
dedicated to the distilation of medicinal herbs to obtain their
quintessence the pure essential oils of aromatherapy. I
was interested in the subject, I had followed courses of Aromatherapy
in Holland Germany, learned how to use the scents, tried them
with success and so we find some products of aromatherapy in the
list of Floramor products.

While in Brazil, in the Amazonian rain forest I colaborated with Medicina
da Floresta (medicine of the forest) working in the laboratories and plantations;
there I met M.A. Campos Freire and I.Facchini Barsé, the creators
of Florais da Amazónia, participated in their workshops on amazonian
flower remedies and elemental therapy.
I toured as translater and assistent of the Brasilian etno-botanist Vera
Froes co-foundater of IECAM (Instituto de Estudos da Cultura Amazónica)
during her series of lectures, seminars and workshops in Holland, Germany
and India.
Meanwhile I´ve been developing my own original products: like Aura
Clear, Foenix Elixir, Oil of Santa Maria.
I have been my first test-pacient. My success in self healing with herbs,
compells me to expand beyond myself: many other fellow humans need the
healing help of Mother Nature and I can guide some steps into making a
link with Her through the healing plants. The knowledge and experience
collected along my life path I want to share.
